Today we celebrate the Memorial of Our Lady of Fatima.

This was to be the first of the Apparitions to Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta, and would culminate with what we know to be the Miracle of the Sun on Oct. 13, 1917.  In 2016, I was blessed to have been able to visit there, to meet with a distant cousin of the children, to see their homes, and, even more beautiful, to have prayed the Rosary in a candlelight procession, celebrate Mass in the Basilica, and at the Chapel of the Apparition.

We have been talking in this month dedicated to Mary, and, of how Jesus gave Her to us as our Mother.  Well, in this Apparition, He sent Her to the world through these three little children to reveal to us our need to entrust ourselves to Her, so, that She can teach us how to pray for ourselves, for the conversion of the world, and, to have a deeper love for Jesus, and, especially His True Presence in the Holy Eucharist.

As She was sent at a time with World War 1 going on, and the Spanish Flu was killing millions, may we remember that during these times we are living in now, that we can always have recourse to Her, Our Life, Our Sweetness, and, Our Hope.

Good bless you,
Fr. Robert
