Today is recognized as the National Day of Prayer.  It was first inaugurated by the Continental Congress in 1776, and, was held on different days throughout the year, until President Ronald Reagan declared that it is to be observed on the first Thursday in May.  It is meant to call the people of our country to turn to God in prayer and meditation for His blessings to us.  A

good meditation for today could be to reflect on what Jesus tells us in the Gospel that the Father sent Him to us, and, in Acts, St. Paul is helping those listening to him, and, us, to see how he is making that known by taking them through salvation history.  As for the prayer aspect, I invite you to watch, or re-watch the beautiful Holy Hour we celebrated on Divine Mercy Sunday, providing you with an opportunity to pray the Rosary, sing along with the Chaplet, and, above all, to just Adore Jesus, Present in the Blessed Sacrament.

It is available on Facebook, and You Tube, accessible on our Parish website homepage.

God bless you,
Fr. Robert
